2010 Season

Tryouts are over for this season, and travel teams have been formed.  Please check your email for all instructions and paperwork that needs to be turned in ASAP.  Please mail all forms to the mailing address on out website.  YOU DO NOT NEED TO PAY the $45 SCVA fee.  All players must turn in their paperwork and start-up dues to be able to participate in the first practice for insurance reasons.  Parents also need to register players with the SCVA through the link above called "Registration". There are still a few spots on our teams available, so please email or call for more info.  All  practice schedules have been posted below on the calendar.

Schedules
All Schedules have been posted. The SCVA flip-flopped the first tournament for 15s and 16s in their handbook so please note that 15s play Jan. 17 and 16s play Jan 9th!!!   Please let us know if you see any further discrepancies so we can verify with the SCVA.  Click on the day for details on which team is practicing.  Scroll down to the bottom of this page to download all 2010 Tournament Schedules for both local and travel teams.  In addition, please go to the Club Dues page and scroll to the bottom to download all registration forms and your contract.

New Tuition Rates

To make sure that every player is able to play club even in our current economy, Club Pacific has reduced tuition rates for 2010.  Please look on our club dues page for all rates.  Local teams now cost only $825 for the season, with a low start-up cost!  Travel team tuition is also reduced.  You won't find a better value in San Diego, and still with the best coaching staff of any club!  See our Club Dues page for details.

OUR COACHING BELIEFS

REPETITION

Repetition is a key element to our coaching beliefs. Every effort should be made to maximize ball touches for every practice. The more time spent correctly executing the drill the better the athletes will become. Every minute we have in the gym is important. "If you are not getting better, then you are getting worse - you don't just stay the same." Coaches need to incorporate the warm up into a drill. We would rather have the athletes warming up while touching the ball as opposed to running. If conditioning is needed, then time should be set aside prior to or after your two hour practice block.

PREPARATION

It is our responsibility as coaches to be prepared with a practice plan. We should have in mind what our general goals for the team to accomplish are for at least three practices in advance. Then you can adjust your thoughts as each practice approaches. If we don't prepare then we are not doing our job and cannot expect our athletes to do theirs.

FUNDAMENTALS

We believe in the proper execution of the fundamentals. Before athletes can grow as players they must first be able to properly execute the fundamentals. It is our responsibility as coaches to ensure our players can perform basic volleyball skills using proper form and technique by:

    * Instruction
    * Demonstration
    * Drill Repetition
    * Praise & Correction

Club Pacific Volleyball Club was originally founded by Mark Warner in 1993 as Asics Pacific Volleyball Club. In 2007, Doug Babington and Daniela Farrington took over the management of the club when Mark retired.  Doug previously coached with Club Pacific for several years while Daniela was a volleyball mom and volunteer for 4 years before her daughter took off to college.  When not working for Club Pacific, Doug is a teacher and head volleyball coach at Valhalla High School, and Daniela is an accountant for a local CPA firm.  Our last two seasons have been very successful, with teams finishing in the top of their divisions.  We strive to provide the best coaching environment in addition to being affordable in today's environment.  We want every girl to have a great time playing and learn to love the sport for a lifetime.
